I have loved every minute of my experience learning Kiswahili with Daniel at the Swahili Language School! I really like the approach that incorporates learning both culture and the language. I still have far to go, but I am confident that I will become an excellent Kiswahili speaker if I continue taking classes with Daniel. I highly recommend!

I have lived in Kenya for one year, and spent around the past 4 months following a group course from the Swahili Language School. I can fully reccomend. The course material and teaching is well tailored to a beginner (in my case), and encourages you to speak from the first day. Learning phrases such as 'na wewe?' (and you?) which is helpful to keep conversations going with locals! There were ten people in my course, the atmosphere was also very nice and I made great friends.

I truly enjoyed my Beginner course at Swahili Language School. Daniel is an excellent young teacher who builds your language knowledge starting from the history of Swahili, grammar foundation and then incrementally building vocabulary with dialogues and exercises. Not to mention the interesting cultural insights he provides. Most importantly, Daniel adapts to the needs of the students group and even offers recordings (or even private replacement classes!) if for some reason you are not able to attend the class in person on a particular occasion, so that you can keep the pace with the others. Asante sana, mwalimu Kioko!

This teacher knows what he's doing. Teaches grammar to make a firm learning foundation, then proceeds with broader and broader concepts and practice. Great guy very knowledgeable about culture and language of Africa and Swahili. Excellent teacher, makes everything very simple to understand. The school is expanding, so look forward to more classes and additional learning opportunities.
